Here are some facts: The production of the striped barrel is complex because the material is made of cellulose-acetate based on a formula developed specially for Pelikan. It is bent, ground and then cut to contour with a diamond. The palladium-plated rings on the filling knob and cap are fitted with utmost precision, creating an almost seamless transition between the materials before the fine writing instrument is polished to a high shine.

The Souverän M405 Black-Blue fountain pen with differential piston mechanism has a 14-carat/585 completely rhodium-plated gold nib. You can also choose a rollerball, a ballpoint pen or a mechanical pencil with push-button mechanism.

Every Souverän was crafted with the highest precision, mounted by hand and finally carefully checked. The writing qualities of every gold-nib were tested by hand before it comes to you.
